This Support Group is open to Any and All patients that have previously had weight loss surgery.
Registration is not necessary. Meetings are not suitable for children and are intended for individuals age 18 and older only. Family and/or a support person ≥18 years old are encouraged to attend.
Research shows that consistent and active participation in support groups after weight loss surgery can increase the chances of long-term success. The group meetings help to educate patients and have been shown to reduce the likelihood of depression and/or anxiety due to the many changes the body is experiencing in the post-operative period.
Weight Loss Surgery Center Support Group meetings are designed for individuals that have had previous weight loss surgery. They are not intended for patients that are in the pre-operative phase, or for those contemplating weight loss surgery. Please contact the Weight Loss Surgery Center for guidance if you are looking for support and have not previously had weight loss surgery.
After surgery, patients are strongly encouraged to join the Weight Loss Surgery Center for monthly meetings. Support group meetings will offer an opportunity for patients to come together, to learn and grow alongside one another in a supportive and interactive setting.
