Plymouth, NH — October is National Physical Therapy Month, a nationwide recognition of the essential role physical therapists play in keeping people moving and independent. At Speare Memorial Hospital, the month serves as an opportunity to highlight the wide range of rehabilitation services available to the central New Hampshire community.
Each year, Speare’s rehabilitation programs help thousands of individuals recover from injuries and surgeries, manage chronic conditions, and regain confidence in their mobility.
“Physical therapy is about more than healing after an injury—it’s about helping people regain confidence, stay active, and improve their quality of life,” said Michelle Dow, MSPT, MBA, director of Speare Rehabilitation Services. “Our team works with patients of all ages to develop personalized treatment plans that meet their goals and keep them moving safely.”
Speare’s Rehabilitation Services include inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy for recovery of daily function and hand injuries, and specialized programs such as sports rehabilitation, balance and fall prevention, and long-term pain management. The hospital also operates RehabFit, a medical fitness gym designed to help patients continue their recovery in a supportive environment.
With locations at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, the medical office building at Boulder Point, and in Bristol, the department combines skilled clinicians, advanced therapy equipment, and a patient-centered approach to care.
“Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or looking to improve your strength and mobility, our rehabilitation team is here to help you every step of the way,” Dow said.
Community members are encouraged to mark National Physical Therapy Month by learning more about the services available locally. More information, including scheduling details, is available at www.spearehospital.com/rehab
