Federally Licensed and Certified
The SMH laboratory is licensed by the federal government and state of New Hampshire. The government conducts random “surprise” inspections of hospitals throughout the state.  The laboratory is also accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This accreditation process is based on the results of an on-site inspection every two years. The last unannounced on-site inspection of the laboratory was in December 2016. This is a voluntary program that the laboratory chooses to participate in as part of our ongoing commitment to quality laboratory medicine.
