Meet Sean T. Burns, MD
Sean T. Burns, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Chief of Surgery at Speare Memorial Hospital. He has practiced orthopedics in New Hampshire since 2012 and has cared for patients at Speare’s Plymouth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine since 2020.

Dr. Burns provides general orthopedic care, treating knee and hip pain as well as injuries affecting the joints, muscles, and bones. He works with each patient to understand the cause of the problem and identify an appropriate treatment plan. Many conditions can improve without surgery.

When surgery is appropriate, Dr. Burns brings extensive surgical experience to his patients’ care. He has performed thousands of total knee replacement procedures and has advanced training in orthopedic trauma and fracture care.

Before joining Plymouth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Dr. Burns practiced at Concord Orthopaedics and served as Orthopedic Trauma Director at Concord Hospital. He now cares for patients in Plymouth and throughout central New Hampshire.

Dr. Burns earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and advanced fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at Denver Health.
