Yaroslav Basyuk, MD
Dr. Basyuk specializes in hand and upper extremity care. He attended Rutgers University where he earned his BA degree. He attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he earned his MD degree. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and a fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery at Rutgers.
Dr. Sean Burns
Dr. Sean Burns provides general orthopedic care for knee and hip pain and injuries affecting the joints, muscles, and bones. He works with you to understand the cause of the problem and develop a treatment plan that fits your needs. Many conditions can improve without surgery, and he considers nonsurgical options as part of that process.
When surgery is appropriate, Dr. Burns brings extensive experience to your care, including thousands of total knee and hip replacements and advanced training in orthopedic trauma and fracture care. His background includes treating complex fractures and fractures that have healed improperly or failed to heal.
Dr. Burns is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and chief of surgery at Speare Memorial Hospital. He has practiced in New Hampshire since 2012 and cared for patients at Plymouth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine since 2020. He previously practiced at Concord Orthopaedics and served as orthopedic trauma director at Concord Hospital.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and pursued advanced fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at Denver Health.
Kristen Stupay, MD
Dr. Stupay specializes in foot and ankle surgery. After attaining her bachelor’s degree at Yale University she earned her medical degree at Tulane University in New Orleans. She completed an orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program and a foot and ankle surgery fellowship at the Harvard Brigham and Women’s Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Fellowship Program.
G. Christian Vorys, MD
Dr. Vorys is a graduate of Dartmouth College, and specializes in sports medicine. Dr. Vorys completed his Doctor of Medicine, internship and residency at Columbia University, and his fellowship in orthopaedic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. Dr. Vorys spent time as a team physician with the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots, and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Laura Spears, APRN
Laura Spears is a family nurse practitioner with extensive experience in orthopedic care and pain management. Her background includes helping you prepare for surgery, supporting your recovery, and evaluating and managing acute and chronic pain.
As an orthopedic hospitalist at Concord Hospital, Laura cared for patients before and after surgery and coordinated care with specialists in joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, spine, hand, foot and ankle, and sports medicine. She also provided outpatient pain management at Pain Solutions in Concord and Gilford, including follow-up care after procedures and medication education.
Laura earned her master’s degree in nursing from Simmons College in Boston and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Salve Regina University. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked in Concord Hospital’s orthopedic and medical-oncology units. She brings this broad experience to your care at Plymouth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Colby Powell, PA-C
Colby Powell is a board-certified physician assistant with more than 30 years of clinical experience and a special interest in orthopedics and sports medicine. His background in surgery and neurology gives him a broad perspective when evaluating your symptoms and care needs.
Early in his career, Colby worked alongside surgeons across multiple specialties, including orthopedics, assisting in procedures and caring for patients before and after surgery. He went on to spend more than two decades in neurology, developing experience in peripheral nerve disorders, nerve-related pain, and conditions affecting patients across a wide range of ages.
Colby is a graduate of Gannon University’s physician assistant program. He brings his surgical experience, diagnostic skills, and collaborative approach to your care at Plymouth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
