Speare Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Dennis Claire, a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, to the team. Board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Claire earned his medical degree from the School of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University in Miami and completed his surgical residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Massachusetts.

With more than a decade of experience, Dr. Claire focuses on nonsurgical solutions for treating people with foot pain and office-based minimally invasive procedures. Additionally, he will see patients at Speare’s Wound Care Center.

“I am looking forward to serving a community I will be part of,” says Dr. Claire, who has recently relocated from the Seacoast. “As an avid endurance athlete, I look forward to helping active people stay on their feet and moving. I take a functional and preventative approach to chronic foot problems to help people avoid future injuries.”

Dr. Claire has specialized experience with sports medicine and pediatric issues. His priority is promptly seeing people of all ages with developing problems to help keep them out of urgent care or the emergency department. This includes ingrown toenails with infection, foot infections, gout, foreign objects, injury, and foot pain that limits movement. In treating wounds that won’t heal, Dr. Claire considers all the possible reasons the wound exists to achieve the best healing possible without adverse outcomes. This may include nerve damage, poor circulation, pressure and friction from shoe wear, and diet.

“I treat people of all ages, including higher level athletes, people working on their feet all day, and retirees that have ongoing, unresolved foot pain,” says Dr. Claire. “I listen thoroughly, and all of my treatments are catered to the particular patient and their situation–I never apply a cookie cutter approach.”

Based in Speare’s Wound Care Center in Plymouth, appointments can be made with Dr. Claire at 603-481-8780.
