Plymouth orthopedics and sports medicine is pleased to welcome dr douglass weiss

Dr. Weiss is excited to return to central New Hampshire.  He earned his bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College where he captained the ice hockey team. After graduation, he played professional hockey in the United States and Europe before returning to Dartmouth to attend medical school. He completed a general surgery internship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and an orthopedic residency and research fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. He also completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the distinguished Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

Dr. Weiss is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Besides general orthopedics and sports medicine, Dr. Weiss is interested in ACL and knee injuries, rotator cuff and shoulder injuries and tendonitis and overuse injuries.

Doug serves as a team physician for USA Hockey & the US Ski & Snowboarding Association and looks forward to the opportunity to work with local athletes. He brings a patient-centered focus consistent with the mission and values of Speare, and we are excited to have him join our team.
