An annual poll conducted by New Hampshire Magazine asks every licensed physician in the state to choose who they would send their friends and loved ones to for medical care. They voted that they would entrust the eyes of their loved ones to Dr. Paul S. Musco!

Dr. Musco will continue to offer general ophthalmologic care including cataract surgery and glaucoma treatment, but he also brings subspecialty training in corneal diseases and surgery.  This will include treatment for keratoconus, Fuch’s dystrophy, shingles keratitis and various types of corneal transplants, surface reconstruction and pterygium excision.

Former Speare Memorial Hospital Practice Administrator noted, “Dr. Musco is exceptionally qualified to treat abrasions and injuries to the cornea (front part of our eyes), and has been treating patients with cataracts, macular degeneration and other diseases of the eye for over twenty five years.”

Developing long-term relationships with his patients so he can best understand their needs is the cornerstone of Dr. Musco’s practice.  He says, “I have always viewed my role as a physician to be a trusted advisor.  I am here to help patients understand their health, knowing my goal is to listen to their needs and concerns so that I can offer treatment and options that have their best interests in mind.”

He earned his bachelor’s at Tulane University, and received his doctorate from Georgetown University, where he also completed his residency in ophthalmology.  Following that, he had a Fellowship in Corneal Surgery and External Disease at the University of Rochester—Rochester Eye Institute.  Dr. Musco is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Prior to Speare Memorial Hospital, Dr. Musco had been in private practice in Rhode Island for 20 plus years.

Becoming part of the community they always admired form the sideline, and deepening their connection to the White Mountains, is something Dr. and Mrs. Musco deeply looked forward to. They are also closer to their daughter who lives in Hanover, New Hampshire, without being far from family in Rhode Island and Boston.

For more information or to make an appointment with Dr. Musco call White Mountain Eye Care & Optical at (603) 536-1284.
