Dr. Joseph Casey
Dr. Casey specializes in endoscopy, colonoscopy and skin lesion procedures in our Acid Reflux & Heartburn Center and Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center. Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Casey is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency training at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston.

Dr. James Koren, Jr.
A practicing surgeon since 2001, and board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Koren is a highly experienced surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive surgeries and advanced laparoscopic procedures including complicated hernias, colon resections, stomach ulcers and a procedure for heartburn/reflux. He received his doctorate from the Ohio State University and completed his surgical residency at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, followed by a fellowship at Saint Peter´s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Dr. E. James Hanowell
Specializing in advanced laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Hanowell has significant experience in minimally invasive surgery, reflux surgery, colon resection, complex hernia repair, thyroid surgery, gallbladder surgery, colonoscopies, endoscopies, breast surgery, cancer surgery, trauma surgery, and biopsies. Dr. Hanowell is a graduate of Bucknell University and the University of New England College of Medicine. He completed post-graduate training in general surgery at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha where he was chief resident.

Dr. Robert Chastanet
A highly experienced surgeon who served twenty years in the Navy, Dr. Chastanet is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Chastanet specializes in laparoscopic surgery and has performed gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy weight loss surgeries for over a decade. His accomplishments began when he graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy by ranking in the top 10% of his class. He went on to earn his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He completed his general surgery residency and internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and received advanced fellowship training in laparoscopy at the University of Texas at Houston.
