KYMMAOn Saturday, September 26, 2015 the 16th Annual Keeping You, Me & Memories Alive (KYMMA) Day to Fight Cancer was held at the Plymouth State University PE Center.

Proceeds from the event provide aid to individuals and their families, living in the Central New Hampshire area, who are affected by cancer.

Once again, Speare Memorial Hospital was a platinum sponsor and several members from our Volunteer Office and Oncology Clinic participated in the event.

In addition to the walk-a-thon, and the high heel 50-yard dash, the event featured a wide variety of activities including a BBQ, Colors of Cancer Nail Art, Drums Alive, Juggling Jim, Face Painting, Bubble Station, Dollar Sale, Scavenger Hunt and Silent Auction. Local entertainers who performed live music throughout the day and evening were The Chris White Band, The Midweeklings, Michael Kim, Uncle Steve Band, and the Stove Pipe Mountain Band.

Luminaries were purchased prior to and during the event and decorated in honor of cancer survivors and/or in memory of someone lost to cancer. They were arranged along the pathway to light the walk-a thon in the evening.

Rounding out the event was a fun and fitness dance party with Glow Zumba. Just prior to 9:30 p.m. dove shaped balloons were released, each one had a note attached dedicated to a loved one.
