Prevention is Key to Staying Healthy During Flu Season

GET VACCINATED

Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, sick days from work and school, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations and deaths. Click here for more information on the flu vaccine from the CDC.

WASH YOUR HANDS

The flu is easily spread so frequent hand washing with soap and water is key to keeping germs out of your body and stopping influenza in its tracks. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer.

CLEAN AND DISINFECT

The flu likes to spread not only from person to person contact, but through frequently touched surfaces as well. When someone is ill, clean and disinfect surfaces and objects at home, work and/or school.

ELBOW COUGH

The Flu and bacteria spread through touch so cough into your elbow, not your hands.

STAY HOME IF YOU DON’T FEEL WELL

If you should become sick with the flu, stay home, keep the germs from spreading and take care of yourself!
