Each year the New Hampshire Emergency Medical Services (EMS) presents an EMS educator with the Educator of the Year Award. This Award was created to recognize an EMS Educator who excels in their contributions and commitment to New Hampshire’s EMS Education and Training. It is a recognition of excellence and accomplishments that have assisted in improving the New Hampshire Trauma and EMS System. On Sunday, September 17, 2023, this year’s award was presented to Jeff Dropkin, BA, RP, CCEMTP, NH/IC.

In addition to his Fire and EMS roles throughout our local community, Jeff has worked at Speare Memorial Hospital since in 2007 serving as a paramedic in the Emergency Department, our EMS Coordinator and an instructor of the hospitals Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) classes. Jeff’s passion for teaching and commitment to excellent patient outcomes is evident in all that he does both in our Emergency Department and in teaching our ACLS and PALS classes. The staff who have the privilege of attending his classes always look forward to learning from him. Jeff is the third Speare Memorial Hospital employee to receive this award since 2001. Congratulations, Jeff and thank you for all that you do!
