Seems Oscar Bryan wanted his own birth month instead of sharing December with one of his
older brothers.  Due December 28, 2013, Oscar was born at 3:01 p.m. on Friday, January 3, making him the first baby born in 2014 at Speare Memorial Hospital.

Delivered by Dr. Joseph Ebner and entering the world at 9 pounds., 8 ounces., and 21.5 inches long, Oscar was welcomed by his parents Maren and Derek Bryan of Plymouth, and four older brothers:  Milo, age 9; Jonas, age 7; Ollie, age 5; and Dutch, age 2.  The family recently relocated to Plymouth from Utah as Derek is working toward his master’s degree in Adventure Education at Plymouth State University.

“We have felt very well taken care of,” notes Maren of her Speare experience.  As the family prepared to take Oscar home, his big brothers were bursting with excitement.  Maren said, “They were so excited it was a boy.”
