Wilma Hyde, DNP, Returns to Plymouth Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine at Speare!
The Oncology Clinic at Speare Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Cibar Benitez, M.D. Dr. Benitez is a physician with the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC), of which Speare’s Oncology Clinic is a regional affiliate, offering patients access to sophisticated cancer care close to home.
Trained as an internal medicine physician, Dr. Benitez is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. After earning his doctorate from Universidad Nacional de Asuncion in Paraguay, he completed his residency at Sinai-Grace Hospital of The Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Mich. Following his residency he went on to complete a residency in geriatric medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, and a Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at St. John-Providence Hospital in Southfield, Mich.
Dr. Benitez is especially sensitive to the needs of elderly patients requiring cancer treatment. “I have a special interest in geriatric oncology” says Dr. Benitez. “I like to work with the family of the patient, as they are an integral part of the treatment. Sometimes treatments need to be adjusted and I work with the patients and their families to find the best options for them.” He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, helping to bridge the language barrier for some patients.
Speare’s outpatient Oncology Clinic offers chemotherapy, infusions and injections for other non-cancer related conditions including: anemia, blood transfusions, arthritis, Crohns Disease, enzyme replacement therapy, Multiple Sclerosis and Osteoporosis. Our Oncology Certified Nurses offer individualized case management and care to give patients the confidence they need to manage their disease and treatment options to maximize their quality of life.
